Searching for Silver Linings

Picture
My passion for fine fabrics began at an early age on the back roads of eastern North Carolina.  Many hot afternoons were spent in the back of Mamma’s Ford Fairlane traveling from fabric store to fabric store in search of the silver lining.  With hopeful prospects in hand, together my mother and I would spend hours and hours creating dress-up clothes for Chrissie, the doll who had a life of her own.

Who would have guessed that I would continue the tradition by making party clothes for furniture?

In 1985, I graduated from North Carolina State University School of Design with a Bachelor of Environmental Design in Product Design.  While in school, I participated in the Student Intern Program, working at IBM and Walt Disney World.

I have been designing for the textile industry ever since.

For nearly a decade I designed products for a manufacturer of covers and cases for medical equipment.  Today I utilize my knowledge of the sewn products industry by creating one-of-a-kind soft home furnishings.

I am passionate about connecting with creative people.

Great days are enjoyed in a little gray house with a wonderful family including a husband and two children;  Crackers, a stray Lhasa Apso, and Pungo, an Airedale who reminds us all of how simple life used to be.

Great days are filled with sunny day dog walks, bringing clients’ fabric visions to 3-D, and searching for silver linings.
